Ainagul Aitbayeva is a psychologist and early-career researcher from Kazakhstan whose work focuses on LGBTQ+ mental health and gender-based violence. They hold a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the American University in Bulgaria, a master’s degree in Applied Psychology from the American University of Central Asia in Kyrgyzstan, and a master’s degree in Gender Studies from Central European University. Their research and professional work explore intimate partner violence, violence prevention, and therapeutic work with LGBTQ+ communities, with a particular focus on Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
