About

Dilafruz Khonikboyeva is the Founding Executive Director of the Home Planet Fund. Ms. Khonikboyeva was previously a political appointee of the US Biden-Harris Administration, spent five years with the Aga Khan Development Network, and eight years responding to conflict and climate crises.

Ms. Khonikboyeva is a transformational conflict expert, focused on civil war, climate and resource conflicts, and storytelling. She has served on the Board of her alma mater the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University and lead the Climate Change Working Group for Women of Color Advancing Peace, Security and Conflict Transformation (WCAPS).

Ms. Khonikboyeva was selected by the US presidential centers and libraries of George W. Bush, William J. Clinton, George H.W. Bush, and Lyndon B. Johnson as a 2019 Presidential Leadership Scholar. Her story of immigrating to the US from the civil war in Tajikistan and President Bush’s painting of her were featured in the bestselling book, "Out of Many, One - Portraits of America's Immigrants."

Dilafruz is originally from Khorog, Tajikistan and is Indigenous Pamiri.
