Mubinzhon Abduvaliev is an independent researcher. He has served as a consultant for the European Union's European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), the World Bank, the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating of Kazakhstan, Asian Development Bank, Central Asian Regional Environmental Center, and the OSI Foundation in Dushanbe.

Mubinzhon Abduvaliev has been invited to lecture at universities and research centres in the United States, Italy, and Kazakhstan. He obtained a Degree in Economics in the Tajik State University of Commerce. Later, he earned his Master Degree from the Sumy State University (Ukraine), and a Ph.D. from the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU (Spain). His doctoral dissertation discussed firstly the effects on economic growth and poverty alleviation of the remittances flows received by Central Asian countries, together with an analysis of the consequences in Tajikistan of the amounts of Official Development Aid. Trade flows evolution amongst Central Asian Countries were also examined in the above mentioned doctoral dissertation.

His postgraduate studies were supported by the Erasmus (EU), Fulbright Visiting Scholar (USA), International Visiting Leadership Program (USA), and Asian Development Bank – Central Asian Regional Economic Cooperation Institute (China).

His main research interests are the analysis of the economic development of Asian countries, especially the Central Asian countries and in particular Tajikistan, together with the examination of the economic integration of emerging countries in the world order. He is also making research about the effects of the Belt and Road Initiative on trade growth among central Asian nations. He has also carried out an investigation regarding the effects of debt on economic growth among Central Asian States.
