Announcing 501(c)(3) Status
The Oxus Society is delighted to announce that we have been designated as a nonprofit with tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. The Oxus Society is dedicated to providing a platform for debate, dialog, and knowledge production on Central Asia.
Our new tax-exempt status allows us to expand the reach of our mission. 501(c)(3) status gives us increased flexibility with regard to the organizations we work with, as well as increasing the range of projects we can develop.
We rely on the support of those interested in helping us further our mission. Please consider supporting our work by making a tax deductible donation or by joining our members-only Virtual Oxus Circle, which unlocks access to exclusive events and briefings. In addition to monthly memberships on Patreon, we have now included an option to sign up for annual memberships in the Circle on our donation page.
To build on this momentum, we are excited to have signed new partnerships with:
- Paper Lab, a new think tank created by young experts in Kazakhstan.
- Central Asia Barometer, a regional non-profit research and data analytics organization.
- The City Tavern Club of Georgetown, a historic social club in a building that dates back to the 18th century. Details forthcoming.
We will be cooperating with these organizations and our existing partners, to co-organize events, develop collaborative research projects, and provide training activities for local scholars.
There are numerous benefits that come with 501(c)(3) status, and at Oxus we are very excited about the opportunities this new status presents to us and our partner organizations.
