Current civil society, educational, and economic reforms in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan. I have a personal research interest in Russian colonial and military history of Turkestan from the 17th – 20th centuries; Bolshevik revolution history in Central Asia in the early 20th century.
