My primarily focus is on private sector development in Central Asia, with a particular interest in rural economic development and tourism. My MSc thesis was on international investors’ demand for Islamic finance regulation in Uzbekistan. I have also published academic papers relating to China’s expansion in Central Asia, and the COVID-19 response and related economic prospects of the Central Asian republics.
