Education & Training
My research activities and interests cover collective identities of hegemonic and marginalized groups in the post-Soviet societies of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. I discuss their role in shaping everyday life, local governance, national politics, religious extremism and trans-local migration. I also study patriarchal and extraterritorial repressive practices and institutions which support the authoritarian state of Tajikistan to endanger political, civic and academic freedom.
