Education & Training
I research citizenship practices in Central Asia, studying how citizens navigate myriad options for communicating with the state and make sense of their rights and responsibilities as members of political communities. My work on education considers how the state tries to shape these citizen practices for their own legitimacy, capacity, and regime durability. I am also studying how digital and analog forms structure state-society relationships and the ways citizens advance rights claims.
