I’m interested in state and state-society relations, using empirical examples of micro-political behaviors, rule compliance, documents, symbolic uses of data, public service announcements/public messaging, and bureaucracy. I use migration regulation, health and social behaviors, and public attitudes to pursue linkages between state-level and social-behavioral level phenomena.
