 Description:

The fifth volume of “History of Central Asia” discusses the history of more than three hundred years from the 16th to the first half of the 19th century. During these three hundred years, the early nation-states in Central Asia experienced their rise, development and decline. As of content, this volume deals with the late Middle Ages in terms of division of world history; from the perspective of political and economic systems, this period is in the late feudal system; while from the perspective of social development history, Central Asian society during this period is in the stage of the decline of feudalism. This volume is divided into three parts: “The Rise of Early Central Asian Nation-States,” “The Development of Early Central Asian Nation-States,” and “The Decline of Early Central Asian Nation-States.” The 16th century was the period of the rise of the early Central Asian nation-states; the 17th to the middle of the 18th century was the period of the development of the early Central Asian nation-states; the second half of the 18th century to the mid-19th century was the period of the decline of the early Central Asian nation-states. The structure of each part of this volume is composed of two parts: the first part describes the historical trajectory of the development of Central Asian countries and regions; the second part summarizes the politics, economy, religion, culture and foreign relations of these countries and regions, hoping to understand the development trend of Central Asia’s politics, economy, religion and culture through theory, and to explore the laws of Central Asia’s historical development during this period.
