A Study on Food Issues in Central Asia 中亚地区粮食问题研究/国外农业论丛

“A Study on Food Issues in Central Asia” focuses on the analysis and research of food issues in Central Asia. There are four main aspects: first, on the basis of analyzing global food demand and food crisis, it provides an overview of the natural geography and human geography of Central Asia, and analyzes the natural conditions of arable land, climate, water, forests, grasslands, agricultural capital input, agricultural population and labor, agricultural infrastructure, agricultural means of production, agricultural science and technology, and other economic conditions related to food production in the five Central Asian countries; second, on the basis of investigating the current situation of food production in Central Asia, the global Food security index was used to calculate the food security situation of the five Central Asian countries, and the main factors affecting food production were empirically tested using the Cobb-Douglas production function, and on this basis. The GAEZ method is used to measure the food production potential and development potential of the five Central Asian countries; the third is to analyze the grain trade in Central Asia, and discuss the characteristics of grain import and export trade in Central Asia from the perspective of trend, structure and market distribution. The threshold panel model and the trade gravity model are used to conduct empirical research on the influencing factors of grain import and export trade in Central Asia, and then use the international market share index and the trade competition index to measure Kazakhstan’s international grain competitiveness and grain export trade potential; fourth, countermeasures and suggestions are put forward for grain production and trade in Central Asia.
