“Medieval Uyghur History” uses newly unearthed Uyghur literature and other first-hand historical materials to ascertain the degree of Uyghur influence on the Silk Road and wider Chinese culture. The author also makes use of rare Sogdian documents to show the origin of the Sogdian and Uyghur scripts and trace the former group’s entry into the territories of modern-day China.
