The book analyzes the underlying reasons for and the composition of emigration flows from Central Asia and also attempts to trace the state of emigrants in the host country during the Soviet era. The book’s main focus is the millions of Tajiks, Uzbeks, Kazakhs, and Kyrgyz and their impact on the politics of China, Iran, British India and Turkey.
