About Me:
Education & Training
My research ethnographically explores the ways in which intersectional forms of marginalisation and exclusion – based on gender and other axes of difference such as age, class, ethnicity, rurality/urbanity and others – are produced and reproduced in Central Asian stressed environments. Past research has focused on questions of gendered labour (including work in mining and migration as well as child labour in mines) in a coal resource extractive landscape in Tajikistan marked by Chinese investments.
