The third volume of “History of Central Asia” discusses the history of the rise, development and decline of the Turkic dynasties in Central Asia and the nomadic regimes in Northern Central Asia from the 11th to the early 13th century. From the middle of the 10th century in the region to the middle of the 11th century when the Kara-khanid Dynasty split; the second section from the rise of the Seljuks in 1040 CE to the outbreak of the Kathwan War in 1141 CE; the third series is from the middle of the 12th century, when the Western Lliao ruled the Hezhong area, to the 1320s when the Mongols invaded Central Asia.
