 Description:

China has its own independent interests, concerns and policies on the Afghan issue. It supports the international community’s assistance to Afghanistan, but avoids direct military involvement there while treating the Taliban issue cautiously. China hopes that the “Kabul Process” can be carried out smoothly, so that the Afghan government can exercise greater autonomy, assume more responsibilities, and support Afghanistan to achieve national reconciliation. The security and stability of Xinjiang is the starting point of China’s Afghan policy, and China regards Afghanistan as an inseparable part of building security in Xinjiang. At the same time, China is also preparing for various unexpected situations.
