 Description:

After the end of the Cold War, the status of Central Asia in the US global strategy has been continuously improved, and the focus of the US Central Asia strategy has been adjusted several times. From the security strategy centered on nuclear non-proliferation in the early days of the Cold War, the transformation strategy based on economic assistance, to the military anti-terrorism cooperation after “9.11”, to the democratization in the “color revolutions”. After the “color revolutions”, the United States’ Central Asia strategy has become mature and stable, and an economic strategy centered on promoting Central Asia regional cooperation was formed. At present, the new Central Asia strategy of the United States focusing on economic cooperation is steadily advancing and has achieved remarkable results, providing an unprecedented legitimacy and realistic basis for the US presence in Central Asia, and has an impact on the trend of the situation in Central Asia that cannot be ignored. In this regard, China should follow the trend, actively advocate regional economic cooperation in Central Asia, earnestly promote existing economic cooperation projects, and participate in economic projects led by the United States through multilateral mechanisms as much as possible.
