Medieval Uyghur Society gives an overview of the history of the Uyghur peoples’ migration west, as well as the Turkicization of Central Asia and the eastward spread of Islam. Through a detailed investigation of the Uyghur Khan Satuq Bograhan’s first acceptance and dissemination of Islam, the origin of the Karahan Dynasty, the ethnic composition of the Khan and the royal family, the internal structure and economic culture in the region, the author provides a detailed overview of early medieval Uyghur culture.
